Nice melodies. I especially like the part at 2:16. It has a somewhat nostalgic retro feel. Sonically, I'm very impressed. You've come a long way. Maybe not the loudest track, but everything sounds nice and clear.

I do have one question though... sidechain?

DJ-Babokon responds:

Thanks!

And yes lol

Pretty kewl track. The dubstep part is quite good. Nice touch with the hi-hats pan movement in the melodic parts too... though, it seems it could have been executed just a bit better.

Regarding what the last reviewer said about the wubs being monotonous, I have to disagree there. I thought there was enough variation in the dubstep breaks.

The mixing sounds pretty good too.

The main reason I don't give you 5 stars is because at the end, where it gets more upbeat, it goes for quite a long time, and could have had some more variation throughout to keep it more interesting.

All in all, a pretty good track! Keep it up!

Kruizy responds:

Thank you for your review! Yeah, that last part probably could have had some more put into it. Ah well.

Nice work! I can tell a lot of effort was put into this. Good variation, good melody, good video game style beat. Fantastic work!

DJJamez responds:

Thanks man! Yes...took around 4 hours running on a computer which is prone to crashes :p

It's very good, mate, but you really need to tone down on the reverb. It's clagging up your mix and preventing it from getting that crisp, more professional sound.

"Let the bass kick!" - awesome! You know how to apply those one liners really well.

The hats have too much high-end as well as some of the sound effects (like in Revelations). If you cut the brightness a bit on the master, it could probably fix that. The brightness doesn't sound bad on my gaming headphones, but on my monitor speakers I can hear it strongly. You probably cannot hear the difference unless you have a good set of studio monitors or headphones (not trying to sound elitist, just stating a fact that you probably have not fixed the issue as you cannot hear it).

However, if you do have a good set of monitor speakers... shame on you!

Good work, once again, bro.

Thing is though, I haven't noticed much of an increase of sonical quality or change in your last three tracks. If you want to get somewhere, you're not gonna have to just keep making good tunes, but you'll have to work on the actual sound of your tracks. Don't get to a certain point and just stop - there is ALWAYS room for improvement.

I've seen some people saying that you're ready to go pro. I'll be 100% honest - I don't think you are... YET! If you keep working hard to create good tunes, as well as improving your mixing skills and whatnot, you could definitely get somewhere.

You're not there yet, but you have it in you to get there.

DJ-Babokon responds:

HOLY SHIT an actual review. O>O Haven't gotten one of those in a while. Anyway thanks! I agree with you, I'm not ready to go pro yet, there's still a ton of stuff i have to learn. I am aware of all those problems you told me about though. It's just that i really REALLY struggled to get a good mix on this one lol. And I had been putting this track off from a release for about a month so I figured why not release? Anyway I'm always trying my hardest to get the best possible sound quality, I really am. At this point in time I think it's my biggest issue even though I have improved on it a lot since I started production. Anyway thanks for all your kind words and for following me! I'll have a new tune up soon with hopefully better mastering. :)

Cheers!

Nice vocals. The part at 1:10 reminds me of In Flames' style. The drums could do with a bit more presence. All in all, good stuff!

QuadWing responds:

Thanks! For the first section, I was going for a bit of a repressed drum sound until 1:13ish, but after that point, I couldn't really figure out how to get the sound that I think you're thinking ofâEU"because I'm thinking of it too.

Man, I wish I still had the project files to edit this. It's stored away on one of my numerous harddrives. Blah, need to go find it sometime.

Haha! The humour is this track is fantastic! The sax is epic, too. Dub could use a bit of work, but the concept of Jazzstep is epic.

sorohanro responds:

Thanks. I'll try to see some new combinations :)

Really nice. Emotional and musically fantastic. I'm sure your mother would be very proud.

Troisnyx responds:

I trust she will! <3 Thank you. x

Haha! Not too bad, bro.

patrickliberty responds:

kewl, thanks :-D
